Low-Temperature Rheological Response of Fresh Versus Used Oils Using the Scanning Brookfield Technique
SourceRheological measurements of modern engine oils have been shown to be important, particularly when determining their low-temperature pumpability. Historical and recent field failures dictate that testing fresh and used oils is critical in determining whether oil is free of the potential to form a structure reported as gelation. This paper presents studies utilizing the scanning Brookfield technique as a powerful tool to analyze both fresh and used engine oils.
