Fire Resistive Joints -- A History in the Making

Source

The international and national efforts to standardize fire resistive joints are nearing resolution. Understanding the differences between fire barriers for fire resistive joints and through-penetration fire stops were important in writing the documents. Dissemination of current information, pertaining to fire resistive joints, is critical to uniformity in building codes and fire test standards. Also recognizing the status of this industry and its ultimate goal will help minimize expense and optimize performance.
