Thermal stability problems encountered over the past few years during the distribution of jet fuel will be reviewed. Surprisingly almost all of the problems have occurred during transportation by ship with very few being encountered with rail and multi-product pipeline movements. The reason for the failures will be discussed in relation to the distribution system and to the manufacturing processes.
