Jet Fuel Thermal Stability—A Specification Writer's Viewpoint
SourceThis paper presents, in a philosophical and technical context, a specification writer's viewpoint on jet fuel thermal stability. The specification writer must specify his limits for jet fuel thermal stability within the constraints of quantifiable measures of jet fuel oxidative processes, constraints of current and advanced aircraft engine design, and constraints of cost effective jet fuel manufacture. It is the interaction of these diverse factors which debars the specification writer from merely accepting the dictates of historical testing patterns.
