Performance of Band-Aid Sealant Joints
SourceThis paper examines the performance of band-aid sealant joints through tensile and cyclic laboratory tests and finite element analysis. The testing includes joints with different bond breakers and band-aid shapes. The paper compares the results of this research with that of previous studies on performance of butt and fillet sealant joints. The results of this study provide a rational basis for designing and constructing band-aid sealant joints. The paper recommends design guidelines for these joints.
