An international calculation exercise REAL-84 was carried out in order to provide data for the assessment of uncertainty values in radiation damage predictions with neutron spectrum adjustment procedures. The input data of the exercise consisted of good quality input information. The emphasis of the exercise was concentrated on the characterization of radiation damage for reactor pressure vessels and related nuclear technology. Twelve different laboratories participated in the exercise. The evaluation of the results of the exercise led to a number of observations and suggestions for improvement of neutron metrology procedures.
