D8473-Test Method for Determining the Biobased content of Liquid Hydrocarbon Fuels Using Liquid Scintillation Counting with Spiked Carbon-14

The purpose of this research report is to describe a small interlaboratory study (ILS, “round robin”, or “precision study”), the primary purpose of which was to establish an interim repeatability statement for a method using liquid scintillation counting (LSC) of carbon (14C) decays to measure the proportion of carbon atoms in fuels that are of recent biogenic origin, as opposed to from petroleum or other fossil feedstocks. Results of the study can be found in RR: D02-2038.
