D8331/D8331M-Standard Test Method for Measurement of Film Thickness of Thin-Film Coatings by Non-Destructive Means Using Ruggedized Optical Interference
The precision of this test method is based on an interlaboratory study of ASTM D8331/D8331M, Standard Test Method for Measurement of Film Thickness of Thin-Film Coatings by Non Destructive Means Using Ruggedized Optical Interference, conducted in 2019-2020. Twelve (12) laboratories participated in this study. Each of the labs was asked to report four (4) replicate test results on a total of eight (8) materials. Every test result reported represents a single determination or measurement. Practice E691 was followed for the design and analysis of the data; the details are given in ASTM Research Report No. D01-2000.
