Properties of Rocks and Reservoir Fluids

Source

The two most important parameters of a reservoir, the hydrocarbon in place and the recoverable reserve, are determined by the reservoir rock and fluid properties along with the fluid distribution. This chapter discusses the properties of reservoir rocks and fluids relevant to hydrocarbon reservoir evaluation and production, and the physical–chemical interactions that control the microscopic distribution of the fluids in the reservoir. Laboratory measurements of some of those properties are also discussed.
