Its primary development during the late 1940s through the 1980s propelled the emergent field of sensory evaluation and testing toward full-fledged sensory science. By applying the technical rigor inherent in the physical and life sciences to how humans use their senses to react to the world around them, descriptive analysis provides robust and multifaceted product information for decision making.
