Editor(s): Xiaoming Huang, Guoqiang Li

Get 24 papers that summarize the state-of-the-art advancement and cutting-edge research on construction of pavement and bridges and maintenance of existing transportation infrastructure. Written by some of the lead researchers in China, papers focus on pavement design, including ice removal, permeability loss, light weight pavement, and landscape. Additional topics covered include new construction by simulating coarse aggregate motion during compaction. Performance evaluation and recycling, including aged asphalt, reclaimed asphalt pavement, and waste tire recycling are also discussed. Another group of papers focus on pavement structure and materials modeling, such as digital specimen and discrete element modeling, and dynamic load simulation of pavement structures. The last group of papers is diverse, covering various properties of materials, including reflective cracking, low temperature cracking, moisture, modulus, interfacial bonding, surface texture, fatigue, grouting, and aging.
