Theoretical and experimental validation is provided for thermal diagnosis of vehicle brakes in the example of a wheeled tractor. The diagnostic parameter adopted is the rate of temperature increase of the brake under steady-state conditions. The functional relationship between it and the structural parameter (the braking moment) is determined.
