A formula for the estimation of the reliability of analyses after multiple testing of petroleum products was developed and published as ASTM Standard Practice for the Utilization of Test Data to Determine Conformance with Specifications (D 3244-77). A nomograph included in this paper allows the solution of the complicated formula easily, quickly, and with reasonable accuracy.
