Significance and Use
4.1 Attrition gives an indication of pellet stability and the amount of fines that may be created by pellet degradation in conveying, handling or transit.
4.2 A similar test method is known for carbon black, see Test Method D1508.
Scope
1.1 This test method covers the determination of the attrition of pelleted or granulated silica.
1.2 Units—The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.
