Significance and Use

4.1 The ash content of a rCB is the amount of non-carbon components present after combustion. Primary contributors to ash in rCB are zinc, silica, and other inorganic compounds that were present in the feedstock.

Scope

1.1 This test method covers the determination of the ash content of Recovered carbon black (rCB) using a Muffle Furnace. This test method has not been validated for blends of rCB with other substances, including furnace carbon black.

1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.
