Significance and Use
4.1 This guide discusses various methods for evaluating the surface of structural concrete roof decks to receive adhered roofing system materials.
4.2 Methods for evaluating the surface of structural concrete roof decks to receive adhered roofing system materials included as part of a roofing system manufacturer’s written instructions, project drawings, or specifications, if any, may vary from the various methods discussed in this guide.
Scope
1.1 This guide provides methods for evaluation of structural concrete roof decks, normal weight or lightweight, prior to the application of an adhered roofing system.
1.2 This guide does not assign responsibility to any party for fulfillment of the items discussed within.
1.3 This guide does not apply to applications involving cellular concrete.
1.4 This guide does not apply to applications involving low-density concrete.
1.5 This guide does not apply to applications involving lightweight insulating concrete.
1.6 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system should be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the standard.
1.7This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
1.8This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
