The elastic moduli of composites reinforced with continuous fibers depend on the elastic moduli of the constituent materials and on the geometry and spatial arrangement of fibers. The determination of the relationship between the composite properties and the constituent properties has been an area of extensive research. As a result, a large number of formulas are available for various combinations of geometry and distribution of fibers.
