ASTM D4767 Standard Test Method for Consolidated Undrained Triaxial Compression Test for Cohesive Soils - eLearning Course
About this Course
This course covers the determination of strength and stress-strain relationships of a cylindrical specimen of either an intact, reconstituted, or remolded saturated cohesive soil. Specimens are isotropically consolidated and sheared in compression without drainage at a constant rate of axial deformation (strain controlled). This course does not replace the ASTM standard.
This course includes downloadable resources including a procedural outline and a pdf of the standard, instructional video content, interactive knowledge checks, and a self-grading quiz. The course can be completed in about one hour.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Recognize procedure for test specimen preparation and mounting, including those for the wet and dry mounting methods.
- Recall procedure for determination of strength and stress-strain relationships of a cylindrical specimen of saturated cohesive soil, including those for saturation, consolidation, and shear.
- Recall procedure for specimen removal.
- Identify calculation procedure, including those for corrections.
- Recall reporting requirements as outlined in ASTM D4767.
