Steel Metallurgy and Alloy Products

Virtual Event
This course in offered virtually as a live session through Zoom.
About the Course
Are you responsible for selecting carbon and low-alloy steel to use in components? Designing components that meet performance and reliability requirements at low cost requires a good understanding of steel metallurgy and the considerations for alloy selection. Steel strength, hardness, ease of component fabrication, and other properties depend on several metallurgical factors that can be engineered to get the desired properties for a component.
During this course you will learn about
Case studies will be used to demonstrate the selection process and give attendees opportunities to apply their steel metallurgy knowledge.

About ASTM and Sponsoring Committee
ASTM Committee A01 on Steel, Stainless Steel and Related Alloys was formed in 1898 and is ASTM's first technical committee. A01 meets twice a year, at the May and November ASTM Committee Weeks, with approximately 200 members attending over the four days of technical meetings. The Committee, with a membership of over 1300 industry professionals and experts, has jurisdiction of over 500 standards, published in January in six volumes of the Annual Book of ASTM Standards; Volumes 01.01, 01.02, 01.03, 01.04, 01.05 and 01.06. A01 has 22 technical subcommittees that maintain jurisdiction over these standards.
