ASTM C39 / C39M Standard Test Method for Compressive Strength of Cylindrical Concrete Specimens -- eLearning Course

About the Course
This course covers determination of compressive strength of cylindrical concrete specimens such as molded cylinders and drilled cores. It is limited to concrete having a density in excess of 800 kg/m3 [50 lb/ft3].
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Describe the testing machine and related components used to determine compressive strength of cylindrical concrete specimens.
- Recall the requirements for specimens used in this test method.
- Describe the procedure, including steps for placing the specimen and applying the load.
- Identify steps to calculate compressive strength of the specimen.
- List the reporting requirements for this test method.
Audience
Anyone who runs the C39 test method or who needs an understanding of the test method and how it is properly run.
