- Define sampling procedures for aggregates, including those for samples of fine and coarse aggregate.
- Recall procedural steps, including those for computing the mass of each size increment of the original sample when a portion finer than the 4.75-mm (No. 4) sieve is reduced using a mechanical splitter.
- Recognize calculation procedures for determination of the particle size distribution of fine and coarse aggregates by sieving.
- Recall reporting procedures as outlined in ASTM C136/C136M.
