About the Course
This course covers sampling of coarse and fine aggregates for the following purposes:
- Preliminary investigation of the potential source of supply
- Control of the product at the source of supply
- Control of the operations at the site of use and
- Acceptance or rejection of the materials.
The course takes approximately 1 hour to complete and includes instructional video content, interactive knowledge checks, and a self-grading quiz. Downloadable resources include a pdf of the standard.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course you should know how to sample coarse and fine aggregates for:
- Identify the steps for securing samples from a flowing aggregate stream (bins or belt discharge), conveyor belt, stockpiles, transportation units, and roadway
- Identify the requirements for the number and masses of field samples
- Recall the conditions for shipping samples
- Recall the guidance for exploration of potential aggregate sources
Audience
Anyone who runs the D75 test method or who needs an understanding of the test method and how it is properly run.

Certificate: A certificate is available upon successful completion of the course and an 80% or higher score on the exam.
