About the Course
This course is based on ASTM Standard Test Method for Melt Flow Rates of Thermoplastics by Extrusion Plastometer. This test method covers the determination of the rate of extrusion of molten thermoplastic resins using an extrusion plastometer.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Identify the components of the extrusion plastometer and describe the other apparatus used for the determination of the rate of extrusion of molten thermoplastic resins.
- Recognize test specimen parameters and material conditioning requirements.
- Identify where to find parameters for procedural conditions and how they shall be shown.
- Recall the steps for Procedures A-D, including those for cleaning and preheating as well as the timing for test start and data collection.
- Identify calculation and reporting requirements, including those required for the individual procedures.
